Our People

Christopher Tarratt

Grandson of the founder, Christopher joined the company in 1964 after training with Wilson & Gill in London like his father. Whilst in London he became a Fellow of the Gemmological Association. Christopher continued his training with prominent jewellery companies in Manchester and Zurich, Switzerland. As a director of the company Christopher is involved in many areas of the business. His passion for antique silver is well known. He has now handed over the day to day running of the company to Marcus Ash, but remains involved in a number of special projects and advises on sourcing silver pieces for the collection.

Marcus Ash

Marcus joined the company in April 2006 and brings with him an energy and enthusiasm for the trade that compliments his 25+ years in the industry. Having worked abroad for five of those years and experienced a variety of markets he is well suited to the cosmopolitan market that is Leicestershire. A keen believer in quality products, being sold by professionals in a superb environment, Marcus is a great ambassador for the George Tarratt brand.

David Watt

David is our award winning in-house designer and head craftsman. As a Director, he has been instrumental in the development of the company, from design and manufacture right through to showroom design and technological innovation. David heads a strong team of two Graduate Goldsmiths, Caroline and Alex, in his custom designed workshop directly adjacent to the show room sales floor. We are justly proud of our workshop and its contribution to the company. We invite you to explore this exciting, dynamic and creative side of our business.

Trudie Barnes

Trudie is our Jewellery Manager and she travels extensively to source those special and exciting creations for our collections. She heads up a strong team with Simone, Mohibun and Jenny helping her deal with all the new ranges we introduce each year. Trudie, a qualified gemmologist, was instrumental in developing and then launching the George Tarratt Diamond Collection last year, which brought together many of her skills to create a truly unique range that has been shown on the cover of Leicestershire and Rutland Life Magazine on a number of occasions in the last twelve months

Graham Adcock

Graham is our horological specialist and manages the Watch Department with the assistance of Samantha. He regularly travels to Switzerland to source the very newest models being introduced by our business partners representing each of the prestige brands we stock. Graham has been instrumental in obtaining a number of truly unique pieces over the past twelve months.

Sarah Lawton

Sarah has been with the company since 2000 and has built her FGA (Fellow of the Gemmological Association) to a point where she has just been accredited as a National Association of Goldsmiths 'Registered Valuer'. It is with great pride that we are able to congratulate Sarah on this achievement and thank her for her efforts over the past years. Her knowledge makes her an excellent source of information and assistance with the unique period pieces of Jewellery that we both buy and sell.
